The publishing project Neznámé Chechy aims to map lesser-known or forgotten localities of the Czech Republic from a variety of perspectives. In this work, Václav Vokolek focused on the sacred places of Central Bohemia. The journey to sacred places has long been part of the basic direction of humanity. It played such an important role in human life that we can hardly imagine it today. Sacred places are known to all religious systems, because they were closely related to the perception of the landscape and nature in general. The connection of the landscape with the sacred was the result of a long-term process, which we overcame in a very short time. This deprived us of the basic direction that not only spiritually enriched a person, but also protected it. This richly illustrated book also serves as a practical cultural and historical guide to Bohemia.
