The book contains the most famous and beautiful stories from the Bible, but also songs, prophecies, prayers and exhortations. But it is not a retelling of stories that we can often find on bookshelves and that children like to read: this book is a selection from the Bible itself. Jan Sokol, an important Czech philosopher, tried to select the main and well-known, but also some unknown stories, as well as characteristic, important and vivid examples from other biblical books and texts. An important part of the committee are pictures by Václav Sokol.
